Alcohol:
· Adversely affects the volatility of auto gasoline possibly causing vapor lock.
· Is corrosive and incompatible with rubber seals and other materials used in these fuel systems which could lead to fuel system deterioration and malfunction.
· Is subject to phase separation, which happens when the fuel cools. When the alcohol separates from the gasoline, it may carry water that has been held in solution and cannot be handled by the fuel filter directly into the engine with disastrous results.
· Reduces the energy content of fuel. Methanol has approximately 55% of the energy content of gasoline and ethanol only has approximately 73% of the energy content of gasoline. More alcohol equals less mileage plus possible damage to the fuel system and/or engine.
· This tester is graduated from 0% to 30% and is available from us for only $19.95 plus shipping.
There are numerous reasons that alcohol and automobile, marine and aircraft engines do not mix.
