The KAMATA™ net gun is the premier less lethal weapon used for either restraining or for capturing a subject. KAMATA™ is unique in that unlike other net guns for the military or for law enforcement the KAMATA™ does not rely on either an explosive charge or compressed air from a very expensive (not service station type) compressor.
Consider that net guns using an explosive charge (gunpowder) are, in most jurisdictions considered a firearm and come under the same restrictions as firearms. The net guns using high air pressure (350+ psi.) must be checked and/or refilled daily and can lose pressure just when the officer needs it as they are storing highly compressed air. KAMATA™ uses one 16 gram co2 cartridge that is not fired until the trigger is pulled. The high pressure co2 is safely stored within the co2 cartridge until needed. Upon firing, pressure immediately builds to an average of 441 pounds per square inch (psi) thereby deploying the net over the subject. The KAMATA™ can be reloaded for a second shot in approximately 5 seconds using an optional 2nd barrel assembly.
